You can be a wizard!!

I just found this and I think it's awesome!

Flick the wand from side to side to flip the channels
twist the wand to turn up the volume
has 13 different functions to control the electronics in your house!

The Wand can learn from any remote!

wow, now you really can be a wizard like harry potter!

Spinning Topper-thing

We got this light up spinner-topper-thing whatever they are called in a stocking of goodies for the kids that got babysat at Scott's work party on Friday. (it was so nice to leave Luke at the daycare while we went and had a good dinner and played games!)

Anyway, Luke LOVES it. He brings it up to us and asks us to turn on the light and then spin it for him. I love how it's always the simpliest things that kids love the most.

Ward Christmas Party

Last Thursday we had our ward Christmas party

Santa was there! Luke reacted normally, I suppose.

After all, it was bedtime and we were handing him off to a big red man with half his face hidden.

He did much better with his first visit with Santa at Walmart near thanksgiving time:

[sorry, it is just a picture of a picture--i couldn't take my own, but I got a free print]

For entertainment, they had a representative from the EQ (scott) and the RS and the Bisopric wrap gifts blindfolded.

Scott actually won being the fastest gift wrapper.
(though I'm not sure he'll be too thrilled with me posting these pictures :)

my new favorite accessory

Where did I get my headband?

i needed something fun to wear in my hair for our family pictures since I knew my outfit would be covered up in a coat due to below freezing temperatures...

So in about 10 minutes, with a hot glue gun, I made this:

and the best part? it was made with all stuff I had already so it was basically free.

Those are just silk flowers from my scrapbooking supplies piled on top of each other, glued to the headband, and then I took a little bead and popped it onto the middle of each flower. And just like that...a cute addition to my hair!

a family photo

with the help of my sister, Jen, and some major photo editing, we managed to get a decent picture. Swapping of heads was definitely neccessary--Luke only looked at the camera in TWO pictures and one of those he was waving one of his hands wildly. We'll have to try to get some more at Christmas, but this will do for now--especially just for wallet sized pictures going in Christmas cards.

DI Finds

Awesome.

D.I. (Deseret Industries) is by far the BEST place to find glass items. I got all this for Christmas decorating and projects plus a clipboard and a big picture frame and spent only $15

I got these little plates because I really really liked them, they coordinate with dinner plates I already have and it was only $3 for the 6 of them.

Thanksgiving Pictures

For Thanksgiving, we went up to Scott's Grandparent's lodge in Altonah UT. Luke did really well in the car on the way there--he was perfectly fine reading books and eating his snacks and then fell asleep for the last hour. He didn't do as well on the way back we had to bribe him with suckers and he still kept signing (asking) to be picked up.

We had a great big dinner and then Grandpa Brown taught us about handguns and we practiced shooting them. (Grandma Brown had a great time inside playing with Luke and he was good for her for an hour and a half!!) Alison and I did really good shooting one of the guns and we came really close to the bullseye. Scott and Anthony did well too--Scott hit the bullseye on his second to last shot of the day.

Alison's and my best target

Overall, I'm not much a Thanksgiving fan, but it was a good holiday and the best part was that Scott was with me for 4 whole days before he had to go back to work on Monday. We like long weekends. REALLY looking forward to our nice long Christmas vacation in Georgia this year.
