We took advantage of the fact that my mom was in town and left Luke with her while we went to dinner at Outback. STEAK. oh yes, it was great!
We came home to check on Luke, and to feed him, and then we crossed our fingers as we drove off to see The Dark Knight. I was worried because it was a 2 1/2 hour movie + previews + travel time which was a long time to be away from my baby! The movie was great, though and I only started checking my phone in the last half hour. We rushed home--I'm pretty sure we were the first ones out of the movie and out to our car. We got home and my mom told me Luke fell asleep 10 minutes after we left and had been sleeping the whole time!! Awesome!! So we took advantage of the time --since he was still sleeping, and broke out the top layer of our wedding cake that's been taking up space in our freezer for a year.
Scott was skeptical and didn't think it would taste good.
He ate the middle and didn't touch the frosting parts. It actually wasn't that bad!!
It was a great day--simple but good.
It's incredible that we've already been married a year, and in such a short time we've become full-blown adults. Finishing school, getting a salary job (scott), having a baby, and getting a house!! We've been so blessed, and I am so unbelievably lucky to have Scott by my side through it all. He's my best friend and I couldn't imagine life without him.
Love You, Scott, Always & Forever
I refused to even try the cake on our first anniversary (actually my refusal wouldn't have stuck if Amy didn't approve but she didn't make me eat it).
ReplyDeleteThe cake thing is just a girl thing that I think most guys just don't get.
Anyway, Congrats!!
