A new family tradition we've been enjoying since last year is roasting marshmellows with our firepit int he backyard and then letting the boys "camp" in the tent in our living room. This time Ruby didn't have to go to bed for a while she was awake and able to join in.
I think it's safe to say she really had fun--look at that smile!
The "camping" in the living room is mostly just for the boys. We let them stay up later and we all watch a movie (Ruby went to bed 1/2 way through). The movie this time was Hotel Transylvania 2. Then when the movie is over Daddy and the boys go to bed in the tent. Daddy stays in there for a while until they are asleep and then he goes to his real bed since it's in the next room, and WAY comfier than that air mattress!
We've done this 3 times in the last year and every time it's a lot of fun for the boys. We hope they will always remember how mommy and daddy let them camp out in the living room. Someday Ruby will be able to join in the sleeping arrangements--but for now she is banished to her crib so we all get some actual sleep for these things :)
