Love does not consist in gazing at each other
but in looking together in the same direction
~ Antoine de Saint-Exupery
This was the quote on a bookmark we gave as wedding favors. I love it because it’s true. You start out gazing at each other and you are so overwhelmed with happiness that you’ve finally found that special person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with. Then, after you are finally married, you shift your gaze forward and hold hands as you move toward your future together. You learn that working together toward the same goals brings the most happiness.
We’ve learned a lot about ourselves and each other in the last 5 years and I think we always will be learning more about one another. Time changes us…sometimes for good and sometimes for the not-so-good. But, if we are always trying to be a little better—a better individual and a better partner—then we will have even more happiness as the years go on.
I look forward to many more years of happiness with you, hubby! Loves!
